Log cabins UK, if correctly erected, are beautiful As auxiliary structures, they add versatility and beauty to properties. As homes, they blend beautifully with the wilderness around them. And you can make a log cabin even more picturesque through effective landscaping.

Effective landscaping for log homes is essential and, actually, should begin when the cabin is designed. Here are six guidelines on how to effectively landscape the area around your cabin.

1. Choose the views that you want to be seen and those you might want to conceal.

2. In your landscape plan, include trees a enough spread of canopy. They protect your cabin from the sun’s hot glare during summer. In addition, they shield your home from wind chills brought about by chilly winds brought about by the winter season.

3. When designing your landscape, consider the activities that you will be doing in your yard. For instance, do you regularly practice your putts? If so, clear a nice patch of trimmed Bermuda grass in front of the cabin.

4. Design your hardscape (e.g., stones, bricks, and concrete) and flora at the same time. Doing this allows you to plot out pathways that will direct your guests toward the most attractive or important parts of your garden.

5. Seasons change, and you want visual interest all throughout the year.   Therefore, when it comes to what kind of vegetation you want to have in your landscape, mix annuals and perennials.

6. Ensure that you leave some space between your logs and foliage, normally around 3 to 5 feet. If you plant your flowers, ferns, shrubs, and trees too close to the wall, they  will force rainwater onto your logs. Worse, if their roots penetrate your cabin’s wall, they will compromise the structural integrity of your home.
